Background

a long time ago there was a village out in the desert. considered a gem, an Oasis of sorts, this village had met it's fair share of travelers whom often brought books and other things in exchange for rare furs and crafts native to the local village.
of course though, not too long after Bandits came, led by a very brutal  "take no shite" cut throat Bisharp whom harassed the villagers planning to take all of their goods, leaving them to die in the desert with no food or water.. or anything.
Gilgamesh, a young orphaned  Helioptile who was not only recklessly bold and too cunning for his own good, but a notorious story teller saw this as his chance to step up and defend his town and validate himself as the hero and warrior he proclaims himself as in his stories and confronts this group. Hera, his only friend and companion (the only one who supports him even though others warn her that he is bad news) watches from a distance in fear as Gilgamesh steps up to none other then the leader of the bandits himself and starts running his big mouth. The bisharp not liking this one bit kicks the Helioptile across the sand and scoffs at him, only to have gilgamesh run after the bisharp and promptly shock him. this results in the bisharp raising his blade  ready to end the little back talker when a giant fireball rains down from the sky mysteriously and strikes down the entire bandit group.

in that Moment Gilgamesh was inspired, he saw this very mysterious fireball as a sign from none other then the god of War himself, Xerxes. and as such he made a pledge:  he will under the God of war's blessing, quest around the land and become stronger, using both tactic and weapon to smite his enemies accomplishing great deeds so that he may validate his own stories, and in time become a god himself.

to everyone else who saw this it was pure madness, Gilgamesh must have had his brain fried by the scorching desert sun, but Hera felt inspired by Gilgamesh, and wanted to accompany him. and so the two left off to do the one thing that would set off Gilgamesh's ambition, Joining  the adventurers guild. so that he can finally make a name for himself as the strongest of the strong.
